YOU AND MEME
Memes are viral images from popular culture using a humour tone to illustrate a feeling or situation. They are made by anybody and adressed to everbody.
These pictures are seen, dowloaded, sent, saved, modified by millions of internet users,
linking them all by relating and identifying to some kind of universal experiences.
Through « you and meme », I’m inviting the users to actively take part in this spreading process by making their own memes using their faces to match a quote. The generated images are then automatically posted on twitter, ready to be seen , shared and maybe to go viral..
Nora Fatehi is a media and interaction design student at ECAL.
Growing up as a digital native in the 2000’s she developed a fascination for internet culture, the evolution of communication and more generally the effects of technology on society and generations. Through her work she tries to combine humour and criticism while exploring the possibilities offered by different forms of media such as AR, VR or creative coding.
