LIGHT BOSSA
Influenced by Library music of the 70's and 80's, this "Light Bossa" is a tribute to elevator music and waiting tunes. Similarly to the overall artisitc direction of the project, the tape recorded track was cut, muddied and corrupted with machines controlled by the hand of the artist.
Truckthomas is beatmaker and DJ, he is a crate digger first, a record archivist.
Through Hip-Hop, he found a passion for Jazz, Funk and Soul with sampling. From these records he composes beats influenced by the likes of Karriem Riggins and Buckwild. As a DJ, his styles vary from hip-hop to boogie in venues such as the Montreux Jazz festival or on Couleur 3's airwaves. In 2020, he started Sconsolato, a Jazz label which repurposes forgotten LPs. The following year, he introduced Word to the Wise, a label which aims to showcase local beatmakers.
